The photograph depicts an old floorboard that was found under a home. You can see the extensive termite damage to the board.
It is imperative that homeowners remove all timber from sub-floors as any timber in contact with the ground soil will attract termites. Fortunately for this home buyer there was no termite damage found within the home floor frame itself but normally when we find this, we find that the termites have entered the home timbers.
Even old tree stumps that some people leave in the garden as a feature should be removed.
